Tony moved the Blackpool from Sheffield in 1998 and acquired the name Yorkie. As a redundant steelworker he retrained as a plumber and gas engineer and became CORGI registered in 1994. Over the years he has undertaken a full range of plumbing and gas work. He has worked for Bumford’s Heating, MacLean and Nuttall (Energy Centre Instillations), and then undertook central heating instillations with Home Energy Efficiency, later being asked to join Harland Rise.
Pressure from Tony’s private customers led to the start of YPH. The business started as a one man band in December 2003, registering as a limited company in January 2004. The business has developed by word of mouth. Only good tradesmen are employed. They must work to Tony’s high standards and understand Tony’s humour!
